Summertime
And the living is easy, or at least that's what the song says.
But I'm not saying we've had a hard time of it. Life is pretty good around here.I'm getting stronger and stronger every day. Lying down is for babies; I'm all about sitting up assisted these days. Superbaby is still fun, but a lot of the time I'm content to chill on someone's knee and just look around. I still haven't quite remembered how to roll over from my belly yet, but any day now I'm going to get that coordinated. Until then, though, I'm enjoying my tummy time again -- since I can look up and around, it's not so frustrating as when my face was pressed down in the blanket.
This weekend was a busy one for us. Friday night we went out for dinner. I'd already eaten, so I mostly watched while Mom, Dad and Auntie Coop demolished a table full of food at the Olive Garden. We were going to go to the Harry Potter book release party afterward, but Mom fell asleep, so I stayed home with her while Dad and Auntie Coop stood in line. Dad finished it last night, and he says it's good but that I have to wait until we read the other four books that come before it.
On Saturday we went to a pool party. Well, it was supposed to be a pool party -- we got rained out. I had my swimsuit on and everything, but it was just too dangerous to go in the water with the thunder and lightning. Too bad. But we did learn that a swim diaper is really only rated to contain solid waste when I leaked all over Mom's beach skirt. In the evening we had a cocktail party to celebrate Dad's 30th birthday (which is tomorrow). He's so old! He's got one foot in the grave. But I guess I shouldn't tease anybody about age, since I turn three months old on Wednesday. I'm going for a photo session today and can't decide between two pretty dresses. We'll just take some pictures in both and see which looks better.
Also, this week my grandpa, grandma and aunties are coming from Canada. I know, I have a lot of aunties, but Auntie LK and Auntie Georgie are actually Mom's sisters. I'm so excited to see them and play with them. Mom's doing a week-long conference that means she only has to work half-days, so we can all play in the afternoons.
I guess that's all for this time. See you next week!
