Back on the Hamster Wheel

After our busy vacation, it might seem like I don't have anything to write about this week. True, I didn't meet any more family members, but that doesn't mean we didn't do anything.

The trend this week is my overall medical malaise. Of course I got a sniffle from the airplane ride, but luckily it was pretty much just a runny nose -- not anywhere near as bad as Mom's cold. Then the rash in the back of my knees (you know, those chubby folds where sweat collects and I don't get a lot of air) flared up again, so they've been rubbing cream on it and it's helping some. On top of that is the whole teething mess. I still don't have a whole one, and I wish they'd just bust out already. I do have a little point on top that's starting to stab Mom when I nurse (and Dad when I teethe on his nose), and Dad can see some white nubs in my gums, so hopefully in another week or two they'll really emerge and the pain will slack off.

I'm still working on the locomotion deal as well. I'm starting to get better at rolling to where I see something I want, but crawling is as of yet eluding my grasp. It seems so simple -- you get up on all fours, you wiggle your arms and legs, and you go forward. The dogs do it all day long. But I invariably end up sliding backwards across the carpet. Oh well -- maybe I'll just graduate straight to running. That's more fun than crawling anyway.

We are doing some yuletide stuff too. This weekend I made presents for grandparents and great-grandparents, but I can't say what they are because they read my blog. It's time for all the holiday stuff down at the theme parks too. We went to see the lights at Disney Studios yesterday, but we forgot the camera again. Next weekend we're talking about going to Universal to see the Grinch show, and maybe Dad won't be so brainless.
