This week was a lot better than last week was.
I think I can safely say that it was because Mom finally had a weekend off. She spent a lot of time in the study on the computer -- Dad says she has a big test coming up that'll decide if she can actually be a doctor -- but we still got to play and snuggle and sing and read stories. It sure was a lot more fun than sitting around waiting for her to get home and then having to climb in bed with her when she does. I miss Mom when she's at work all the time. Dad's great and all, but there's something Mom has that he doesn't. Well, lactating breasts, sure, but that's not all Mom is to me.Oatmeal went well -- I think I like it better than rice cereal.
I've also had some peas this weekend, and that was probably the easiest food they've introduced to me so far. I'm not totally sure about the texture yet, because it might be green like zucchini but it sure isn't as smooth. Dad feels pretty comfortable that I've had enough of an introduction to vegetables that we can start to try some fruits this week and I won't just flat-out scorn the squash next time they bust it out. We'll do bananas first, and then either apples or pears or maybe plums, depending on what they have at the store in the organic section.
I tell you guys what, too, this crawling madness is right around the corner. This week I started to roll across the floor, and I'm getting up on all fours and rocking, just getting a feel for it until I can get a move on. Maybe I'll play a practical joke on Dad and start crawling before he has the place baby-proofed. He thought he was gonna be so good and have it done before I was even born. Ha ha! But he says we're going to Target this week to get latches and braces and stuff. At least he's thinking about it.Oh yeah, I never posted a picture of my Halloween costume.

It was really hot in there, though. (No pun intended.) We didn't go trick-or-treating, just answered the door and gave the neighborhood kids candy. (Since I can't eat candy yet, it doesn't make sense to go. Mom and Dad would just be mooching off the neighbors then.)
It's not long before I get to see some family again! I can't wait. Albuquerque and Santa Fe peoples, call my mom or my dad to set something up if you haven't already, because I'd like to meet everyone.
